Due to high demand for barcodes, GS1 Mauritius welcomed 21 participants instead of the usual 15. Business operators were involved mainly in food stuffs ( snacks, drinks, sweets, bakery, frozen foods) to general merchandise ( pencil case, socks, perfume, protective wears).
Participants had an overview of how barcode can be used over and above identification of products. They were also apprised of how to barcode variable products which require different techniques of identification.
During the session, participants contributed actively in the discussions and brainstormed together for the most efficient way of barcoding their respective products.
Some feedback received from participants:
'' Very well conducted”
“Very friendly, well explained, well presented and useful”
